Daily Equipment Check Starts With A Bang!
Wed. Jul 1st 2009

While A shift crews at Station 33 were wrapping up the
morning equipment check to start the shift today a loud crash came from the
intersection in front of the station. Crews looked out to see 2 vehicles had
collided. Engine 533(Captain Hardesty,F/F's Sickel,Denton,Siemenson)Medic
533(Medic Publicover,F/F EMT Downes) rolled off the ramp and on the scene.
Truck 533's crew(Capt.Cooper,Sgt. DeBord,F/F's Burton and Bauguess) walked
across to assist. Dispatch was notified and Rescue

A Chevrolet trailblazer had attempted to turn left in front of an oncoming
Ford Station Wagon. Both vehicles incurred frontal impact and 4 patients
were complaining of injuries. Command was established and advised no
entrapment and the Rescue was returned, an additional EMS transport was
needed and Medic 531(Medics Payne and Taormina) was dispatched. Both Medic
units each transported 2 patients to Stafford Hospital with non life
threatening injuries and the Engine and Truck crews secured all vehicle
hazards. Command was terminated at 0808hrs. and he scene was then turned
over to Military Police for accident investigation/ vehicle removal.
